DAMA Corner – March 2014

Update Election: 2014 DAMA Officers

DAMA International holds board elections for some of its board positions every year. DAMA International elections were recently completed at the end of 2013; and, as a result, we have several new board members and some returning officers. As seats come available each year, a portion of the seats are open for election on alternate years. In addition appointments are also made. These give a change in representation and also a fresh new outlook as new members join the executive team.Did you know the DAMA International board members represent and serve their members completely free from remuneration for their board roles? The only expenses covered are for direct and expected expenses incurred as a result of regular operations as board members. Every year the DAMA International board is required by DAMA By-Laws to hold at least one of the board meetings at an in-person meeting of the officers. This traditionally happens yearly at DAMA’s conference, Enterprise Data World Conference (EDW). This year’s in-person officers meeting will take place at EDW 2014, Austin, Texas, April 27-May 1.

DAMA International now has several new board members and appointed officers. The election slate of candidates is prepared by the election committee chair and contested seats are voted on by the DAMA Chapters. The following are the recently elected or appointed, new and returning DAMA International directors and officers:
