The Data Management Association on the Web

If you have you never visited the Data Management Association’s website (www.dama.org), you are missing what we hope is one of the best resources
for data management professionals on the World Wide Web.

DAMA has more than 40 chapters all over the world. There have been many additions to the Chapter Resources page in response to the
many requests we have received to provide more assistance to our local chapters. If you are thinking of starting a chapter in your area or already running one, this page can link you to information
for new chapter officers, chapter website FAQ (frequently asked questions), guidelines for running successful chapters, a DAMA calendar of events and much more. And you can contact any officer of
DAMA International by clicking on the email link on our DAMA Board Page. If you need to line up a speaker for a DAMA
chapter meeting, be sure to review our extensive Speaker Listing to find experts who can present topics of interest to data management
professionals.

Whenever you drop by the website, be sure to checkout the Links & Resources Page for links to other sites of interest to data
management professionals. We have recently added many new listings for University programs and organizations that offer continuing education in data related areas on our Education & Training Page.

Our Events Page lists many events, conferences and calls for papers. We try to make this one of the most extensive listings of events
for data management professionals on the web. Many of these events provide substantial discounts for DAMA members and they are highlighted on this page.

Don’t forget that there are links to all of the DAMA Chapters worldwide, many with their own websites. Several of these
sites are great sources of professional information with papers and presentations on topics of interest to anyone in data management. We want the DAMA International site to be one of the primary
online resources for Data Resource Management on the world-wide-web, along with the excellent DM Review and TDAN websites.

If you are trying to hire data management professionals, don’t forget to send us a job description. Our free Job Listings Page
is a great place to advertise your openings. We only post positions that are related to data and information resource management, and you can be sure that people who are well qualified and
networked in our field will see them.

We have experienced a huge increase in visits to the site this year. At the current rate of growth, we will have as many visits this year as we have had for the entire life of the site (5 years)
before this. We hope that means that we are making the site more useful and interesting to working professionals and those interested in data resource management. We continually highlight major
additions and updates on the home page to alert you to new items of interest.

Look for exciting changes to the DAMA International website over the next six months. We are planning on beginning a “members-only” area with white papers, presentations, exclusive access to
research and lots more. Of course, I am very excited about this. What else can we do for you on the website? What kinds of information or links would you like to find on the DAMA website? My goal
as Vice President of Online Services is to not only make the website an essential reference for data management professionals, but also to make it easy to use. Please drop me a note at VP_Online_Services@dama.org if you have ideas for ways that I can make this site a more useful and valued resource for you in your work.
