DGPO What does it mean to you?

The first thing many business and IT professionals ask when taking on the responsibility of a data governance initiative is “Where do I start?”

There are a number of places online where professionals can go to read articles and white papers but nowhere to go to network, learn and share experiences, templates and work products with other professionals.

That’s why the Data Governance Professionals Organization (DGPO) is being formed.

The DGPO is an international non-profit, vendor neutral, association of business, IT and data professionals dedicated to advancing the discipline of data governance.

Our vision is to be the most valuable resource for practitioners working in data governance.

The objective of the DGPO is to provide a forum that fosters discussion and networking for members and to encourage, develop and advance the skills of members working in the data governance discipline.

The DGPO will provide:

  • A virtual and social networking community for data governance professionals to connect and share experiences.
  • Face to face networking through member meetings at industry events and conferences.
  • Webinars and interactive member teleconferences that focus on best practices and real life member experiences.
  • Member discounts to training, conferences and tools.
  • Data governance education, training and certification.

We hope you can join us for the first in-person meeting of the DGPO scheduled for Dec. 9th at the Data Governance Winter Conference in Orlando.

Whether you are just starting out in data governance or have a data governance program in place, the DGPO is the place where you can find help, network and support for your initiatives.

The DGPO website will be found at DGPO.org and is currently under development.

For more information on the DGPO, to sign up for our teleconferences or to join our mailing list please email  info@DGPO.org.
